Welcome to Advanced Health, PLLC, dedicated to supporting you to achieve better health through manual therapy and proper breathing. Hi, I'm Sara Bonds, Member Director of Advanced Health, PLLC. Since 1994, I've been helping adults and children recover and get relief from sustained trauma, chronic pain, post-surgical, post-birth, postural and scar tissue challenges, chronic health conditions and to improve sports performance.
Early in my practice as a licensed massage therapist, I realized traditional medicine and massage did not have all the answers my clients needed to get well. I have dedicated my career to balancing my approach to health: among other studies, becoming a Milne Institute-certified craniosacral therapist, a Reiki master and teacher, a registered breathing educator and I will soon be an osteopathic manual therapist (Canadian College of Osteopathy-Vancouver). I'm amazed at the range of health problems I've successfully helped over the years and I'd like to help you.
When I was 10, I was hit by a car and sustained life-threatening injuries; severe head trauma (coma) and a broken thigh-bone. I have a first-hand understanding of the impact near-death and severe injuries can have on anyone including the many levels of tissue damage that can occur, the impact of trauma, and the healing/recovery process. My injuries, illnesses and repeated recoveries have driven my passion to help people function - move - more effectively and comfortably. By specifically addressing tissue structures and the whole person as a functional unit, I specialize in helping people who seek recovery and relief from sustained trauma, chronic pain, post-surgical, postural and scar tissue challenges and chronic health conditions such as asthma, allergies and sleep problems. I also work with people who are fighting long term conditions such as fibromyalgia, cancer, lupus and chronic fatigue syndrome.
With a background in dance, yoga and mountain sports, I've adapted my practice to providing a life cycle and total system approach to athletes. I use amazing breathing and relaxation techniques to help recreational and elite athletes alike excel to new levels of performance and enjoyment of their sport. And I'm there to help them with their injuries; to recover.
As a mom, I especially enjoy working with pregnant women, infants and children. I understand their unique differences and have spent years adapting my approach and techniques to help expecting mamas and young ones. Dr William Garner Sutherland said, "as the twig is bent, so grows the tree." When we help babies and children with cranial osteopathy, we transform the trajectory of their lives for the better.
If you have on-going pain, chronic health problems or if you are looking to improve your athletic performance, I hope I can be of help. Please give me a call, drop by the clinic and let's talk about your health or sporting goals. I look forward to meeting you soon.
